Zinc

Zinc is the leading element for hot-dip galvanizing, having a silvery or blue-gray color. This element is suitable for secondary use. Zinc is also used in construction, zinc coating was used as a protection against corrosion. Recent years show that pure metal with galvanizing is used even in the roofing of roofing and panel structures.

Zinc is obtained by roasting ore concentrates, followed by leaching with sulfuric acid and electrodeposition from a solution of ZnSO4. In this case, the separation of zinc from the associated ore components - lead, silver, gold.

Zinc is mainly used as a component of brass, tombak and other alloys; for anticorrosive coating of steels and cast iron, for the production of small parts in auto and aircraft construction. It is also used in the manufacture of electrodes for chemical current sources.
